SPRUCE
(Picea mariana)
Plant Origin: Canada
Action: Antispasmodic, anti-infectious, antiparasitic,
antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, hormone-like, cortisone-like;
general tonic, stimulates thymus, releases emotional blocks. Traditional Uses:
The Lakota Indians used spruce to strengthen their ability to
communicate with the Great Spirit.
Indications: Arthritis, candida,
hyperthyroidism, immune-depression, prostatitis and
rheumatism.
Other Uses: Spruce may be beneficial for bone
pain, glandular imbalances, aching joints, and sciatica pain.
It may help support the nervous system and respiratory system,
and can be stimulating the pineal, thymus, and adrenal glands.
Application: Diffuse or apply topically. Add to food
or water as a dietary supplement or flavoring.
Fragrant Influence: Helps to open and release
emotional blocks, bringing about a feeling of balance. It also
helps the respiratory and nervous systems.
Companion Oils: Wintergreen/birch, eucalyptus,
frankincense, Helichrysum, and ravensara.
